You may notice a few changes around here. I just finished a much-needed overhaul of the website to streamline everything.
Edit one: The site looks a lot better (I think, I hope) because I didn’t design this template.
Edit two: It works in Internet Explorer. Welcome, people stuck in the past!
Edit three: The blog is here to stay. Before, I was actually bouncing back and forth between two different WordPress installations. It was a mess. Now you can find everything photography related right here on the front page, and everything journal related on the Navbar above under “journal” or below the featured post.
Clearly, the site is not perfect yet. It never will be. But these are big steps in the right direction.
In other news… I got my new computer, finally. I love it. You never know how much you miss something until it’s gone. As much as I loved my old Dell Inspiron, this Acer Aspire just blows it out of the water. So now that I’m contactable again, Skype me! Email me! You know the drill.
Also, I finally gave in and joined Twitter. You can follow me here, if you are so inclined. Basically it’s just an excuse to update my Facebook profile more often, but so what? It’s fun.
Life in Martos continues. Now that my Spanish classes in Jaén are done, I’ve got a lot more free time. To fill it, we’ve been brewing our own beer, mostly because we got tired of light, tasteless (yet oddly refreshing) Spanish beers. Here’s hoping it turns out well!
At school this week we had a lot of cultural activities as part of the celebration for Día de Andalucía – February 28th – which celebrates the day Andalucians voted to become an autonomous community. In US terms, it’s their state day, and Andalucía being the heart of Spanish-ness, it’s kind of a big deal. I guess it’s kind of like being in Texas for their state celebration. Tonight I got to see some pretty great flamenco at the local flamenco association, also part of the celebration. Well worth it. I love living in Spain.
Anyhow, feedback on the new design is much appreciated. Thanks for reading!
