Here’s one from the archives! Indiepop rockers Black Gold performed at New York City’s Mercury Lounge last December, bringing an unexpected buzz to an otherwise average Monday night.

Lead singer and keyboardist Eric Ronick (of Panic at the Disco fame) provided most of the band’s energy, jumping out of his seat and playing with the audience.

Drummer Than Luu provided backing vocals and a steady beat. Between the two of them, they made for a pretty entertaining show.

This show was a lot more fun for me than usual: I was the only photog in the venue that night, and Ronick knew right where I was the whole time.

The music was, for the most part, pretty standard indiepop/rock fare, but without a doubt it was fun.
