Islands @ Siren Festival 2008

I mentioned in my last post that many of the bands I see at Siren Festival become my new favorites. Well, here’s one of them. Islands is from Montreal and at least two of its members were a part of the Unicorns. They’re a little strange, but man are they fun. Infectious, aren’t they? Now, maybe you can explain to me why the lead singer was wearing a trash can on his head. I’ve yet to figure that one out. Suffice to say, it was an interesting show.

The sheer range of instruments that this band plays is pretty impressive. They may not be any Sigur Ros, but with six members guitars, keys, string and woodwind instruments, and the drums (ah, and the trash can), they’re nothing to laugh at.
